Altes Warmbad

Where does the Altes Warmbad come from? When tourism became an increasingly strong economic motor on Juist at the end of the 19th century, a new hot springs bathhouse was built alongside various large hotels, which was put into operation in 1899. This hot bath did not get its water from the mudflats, but from the North Sea -- with the help of a pulsometer, a special pump. There were many technical difficulties at the beginning, but these were solved over the years. In order to keep the technology up to modern standards, the Old Warm Pool Juist was rebuilt several times before it was closed in 1970, after the opening of the seawater adventure pool.
And today? Today you will find the island's registry office here, as well as the lost property office and the public order office. The Old Warmbad is also a listed building due to its architecture.
