Juister Dike

The dike on Juist begins in the Loog, runs along the settlement, the west village and the harbour before following the east village and ending at the corner of An't Diekskank and Flugplatzstaße. Of course, the Juist dike primarily serves as flood protection. So when it storms and rains properly, we are glad to have our dike, because it keeps the worst out. But it's not only when the going gets tough that it's good to have the dike: On a beautiful, sunny day, the benches on the dyke are especially coveted and the view of the Wadden Sea is particularly beautiful.

Accessibility

The dyke is accessible in the village via steps and ramps. The ramps are sometimes quite steep and uneven. The paths on the dyke are narrow and also uneven in places. Benches are available.
