Way to the Kalfamer

Walking and jogging on Juist, that's a lot of fun. Granted, you don't have an infinite choice of routes here, but you'll find peace and deceleration all the easier when you dig your feet into the sand on the wide, wonderful North Sea beach and really take a deep breath. It's almost meditative. If you want to go to the Kalfamer , the season has to be right. From April to October, the path is not accessible, because the Kalfamer is in the middle of the resting zone of the Wadden Sea, where birds breed. But in winter, you can easily walk to the east end of Juist and enjoy the view of Norderney. Many people on Juist have a slightly divided relationship with the neighbouring island. But that's just a side note. The way to Kalfamer is quite simple: either you walk along the beach always in an easterly direction, more or less until the end of the island, or you follow the airport road in the same direction. Our recommendation is clear: go one way, come back the other. That way you have a view of the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. At any rate, at the Kalfamer you can get detailed information about migratory birds, local plants and animals at the information hut. A bit of education is also necessary on such a wonderful walk to the east end of Juist.
Of course you can walk, jog, walk or cycle along this path. However, bicycles are not allowed in some parts, so please pay attention to the respective signs.

This path is also described in a similar form on Komoot and OutdoorActive .
