We all long for more joy and variety in winter. The supposedly grey season (whereby North Sea grey is probably the most beautiful facet of grey!) is often dreary and characterized by slight sadness. But no such thing! Our ukulele workshop is all about "joy".
Playing the ukulele almost automatically makes you grin and laugh, it's so much fun! Dare to try something new. Do something you've never done before. Let your creativity run wild. Juist is the perfect place for it!

The structure of the ukulele workshop on Juist

For three days you will learn something completely new! Playing the ukulele is trendy. Some well-known musicians play the "little guitars" and make music with a new flair. The weekend from Friday, February 7th to Sunday, February 9th is all about "Try something new and broaden your horizons".
With lots of fun and playful approaches, you will learn the first chords with one and two fingers as well as how to fingerpick, fret and use different strumming techniques. The focus of the workshop is to teach you the basics of song accompaniment and improvisation in a short space of time, playing everything from evergreens and canons to pop songs and modern hits!

Procedure:
From Friday, 07.02. to Sunday, 09.02., the first Juist ukulele workshop with the wonderful title "Joy in Winter" will take place in the seminar room in the Haus des Kurgastes. For three days, you can look forward to learning the ukulele and feeling the unbridled joy that emanates from the music. The ukulele workshop on Juist takes place on Friday from 16:00 - 19:00, Saturday from 10:00 - 13:00 and Sunday also from 10:00 - 13:00.
Your course instructor Astrid will be happy to bring the ukuleles with her. If you have found a new passion during the ukulele workshop, you are also welcome to purchase "your" ukulele on site.
By the way: It is not necessary to have any previous knowledge or to be able to read music. Good news for all beginners!
Costs:
€160 per person incl. ukulele hire for the duration of the workshop
Minimum number of participants: 2
Maximum number of participants: 12
Excluding accommodation, travel to and from the workshop, guest contribution and meals
Course leader:
Astrid Hauke is not an unknown name on Juist. She has been here several times as a mindfulness coach and has inspired her workshop participants. Her creative style, bursting with joie de vivre, paired with her empathy, has already touched many people deeply. Musically, she lives and loves the accordion and - of course - the ukulele! Her joy of playing is infectious. She explains in such a way that not only does everyone understand what it's all about, but everyone really wants to join in! Astrid is therefore our ideal candidate to lead the ukulele workshop!
Individual coaching:
Your instructor Astrid is happy to offer individual lessons during the workshop-free time. Please enquire about an appointment directly on site. The cost of an individual coaching session is €70 including 19% VAT and is paid directly to the instructor on site.
