Inselmuseum
In eleven themed rooms covering more than 500 square metres, the coastal museum offers a fascinating insight into the deprived lives of the people in their struggle with the sea. It shows how man and nature created today's coastal landscape, the dramatic history of the islands and the development of the seaside resort in Germany. Let yourself be captivated by seafaring, distress at sea, strandings and dramatic rescues. Discover our extensive shell collection and learn about current developments in the modern energy industry in the North Sea. Annual temporary exhibitions, multi-purpose room with lending books and magazines. In addition, interesting short lectures and readings are held here.
From autumn 2021 onwards, the reconstruction and redesign of the Coastal Museum will begin.
